I had a little "tampo" with my immediate supperior and I did not talk to anybody in the office for almost a week. I then rercieved a letter from him, demnading or an explanation on my "unusual behavior". I immediately replied citing personal problems, but assuring him that it will never affect my work. A week after I recieved another memo, this time informing me that he had forwarded the said matter to the superiors...

like duh... do i really deserved to be punished like this?
... heard talks already that he is already working on 'ejecting' me from the office
:( can he really do that?

It is unsafe to act on what you "hear' your boss is doing. If you have problems withh your boss, find some private time and talk to him. One on one.

Making "tampo" and not talking to anybody for a week doesn't do anybody any good. For one thing, you are supposed to be a team and these people might actually need your help. Not talking to them for a week delays their progress and prevents them from getting their jobs done.

Conflict is common in the workplace, but not all of it should be taken personally. A little thickness of skin is useful. ;)

My advice is for you to work to clear the air ASAP.

Hi!

Okay, so can an employee be fired for not speaking with an immediate superior?

The Labor Code provides the following grounds for termination:

Just Causes:
(a) Serious misconduct or willful disobedience by the employee of the lawful orders of his employer or representative in connection with his work;
(b) Gross and habitual neglect by the employee of his duties;
(c) Fraud or willful breach by the employee of the trust reposed in him by his employer or duly authorized representative;
(d) Commission of a crime or offense by the employee against the person of his employer or any immediate member of his family or his duly authorized representatives; and
(e) Other causes analogous to the foregoing.

Authorized Causes
a. installation of labor-saving devices,
b. redundancy,
c. retrenchment to prevent losses or
d. the closing or cessation of operation of the establishment or undertaking unless the closing is for the purpose of circumventing the provisions of this Title and
e. an employee who has been found to be suffering from any disease and whose continued employment is prohibited by law or is prejudicial to his health as well as to the health of his co-employees

So, it does not appear that not talking to an immediate superior is a ground for termination. Of course, it can be argued that it falls under serious misconduct...

When you have to hide behind the law to keep your job . . . your career with the company is already over.

Its time to move on.

Making tampo isn't too professional. If your environment is very professional, you might want to avoid this attitude. Unless the dude's your boyfriend. ;-)

Baka naman naiingit lang sya sayo kasi
***** mas maganda ang performance mo sa kanya...

The best solution is that just to do your work/assingments/responsibilities that your top boss
has given to you.

..or maybe...examine yourself if kung me na-disobey kang
rules of the company, or working attitude towards your
superiors and co workers.

korek. but don't resign until you've found/secured a new one. it's hard to find a job these days.
