I think your best chance is through an agency - most of the job postings in the internet are by agencies anyway. I work in IT, and there were lots of opportunities about four years ago, but I doubt if its still the same case now (I've long stopped applying). I think most have stopped doing work visa sponsorships, but you may be lucky, so it's worth a shot.

k3wl, this is not to dampen your spirit but the reality is: overseas companies wouldn't invest on visa sponsorships unless you have a very specialized skills that they desperately need. my wife did just that about 2 years ago. an australian employer was really keen on hiring her but they were just not willing to sponsor her working visa. what the employer did was advise her apply as skilled immigrant which she did that's why we live here now in australia for about a year now.
you might be surprise to know that here or maybe even in the states, big companies hire the services of agencies to recruit even up the top level management positions.

hello!!! currently here in the US vacationing and at the same time looking for a job. i just posted my resume and applied via the internet (in flipdog.com, monster.com, etc.) and after a month i got 4 calls to come for an interview. i did the posting a week before i left for the US.
the openings listed in these websites are posted directly by companies but mostly recruiters.
just be honest about your status (that is, if you are authorized to work in the country) and some are willing to sponsor as experienced by a number of my friends already. in my case, i think it is easier as i am already in the US.
goodluck!!!

when we arrived arrived here, there were several other companies who offered her employment. naturally, she got the best. as for me, since my skills weren't really speacialized it took me about 2 months to find a job that is exactly similar to what i do in the Phils.

I have an aunt who got a job thru the net... but shes a development worker...if you have the skills it takes check out www.devjobs.org she got her interview thru the phone and they sent her a ticket for an asian country...it was pretty cool... she now works as a consultant at a major development organization... jobs thru the net are okay so long as you really are what their looking for...and you know how to present yourself respectively.
