I have an uncle who used to be a captain for a ship (European company..forgot the name). It's just nice to see how he made his fortune in dollars and spent in in Philippine Pesos. His family lives in the Philippines, while he works for 10 months per year overseas (he goes all over the globe!) Now, his family's fairly well-off, and my cousins are pretty much enjoying. I live here in California, and my parents are EARNING in dollars, however, we're SPENDING in dollars as well. Though my uncle and dad make just about the same (in US$), my uncle's family is, by far and away, more advantageous in the Philippines. I wish I could do the same thing some day. Work overseas, have my family live in Manila or somewhere in the Philippines.
