Letting my baby go swimming
We've turned my baby's bath tub into his mini swimming pool. He seems to like it.
Very much. Umiiyak pa pag inaangat na namin. My mom gave him an inflatable pool. Di pa nga lang nagagamit. We're thrilled to let him swim through a much bigger pool. Kaso I'm just worried na baka malamigan. I know some guys let their babies swim na, but isn't it a little dangerous to the baby? Any ritual we have to follow? He's 5 months btw. Thanks. |

Hi Roasted. Almost all babies naman ata ayaw umahon pag nasa water sila.
Anyway, hindi pa naman din namin na try pag swim yung baby ko sa big-sized pool; but you might want to check out Ace Water Spa. I called them before and they have classes for babies and parents. Most probably dun, hindi ganun kalamig yung water and they can probably give you all the info you need re this matter ![]() |

My parents have a pool and I've let my sons go swimming as early as 4 months. I put arm floaters or they ride their little floaters. When they were still below 6 months, it was usually a 15-30 min play in the pool, depending how sunny it is. Of course we keep a careful eye on them and never leave them alone. They both really love the water and scream when it's time to get out.

Thanks for the replies.
May ideal time ba for them to go swimming? Like morning para di pa kainitan at di naman na malamig? |

my son was only 3 months when he first dipped in the pool, dahan dahan lang kasi lalamigin talaga. like toes muna then legs, saka buong katawan. i remember todo iyak pa siya nun sa lamig kaso eventually nasanay din at pahirapan naman pag aahon na.

hi po!
you can check if the water feels cold and feels warm. And you can hug your baby to keep her/him warm in the pool. And ofcourse don't stay too long. My rule of thumb...when the finger tips start to get wrinkly...it's time to go. |

Tried bringing our baby to a bigger pool yesterday. He didn't like it. Masyadong malamig. Umiiyak pag nilulublob na namin.
![]() Anyway, kanina, pinaswim namin sya sa inflatable pool... We made sure na lukewarm lang tubig para di sya mag-iiyak. Ok naman. |
