Tired of Upgrading PC for Latest GAMES

Diba?.. lalo na yung mga latest games
like.....

GTA4
Fallout 3
Need for speed (latest)
Resident evil 5
(etc...etc...)

hehe kakatwa lalo na krisis pa ngayon friends... sakit ng ulo, haha. lalo na kung hanggang tingin na lang tayo, kasi nga ang baba ng SPECS ng computer at di mo mai-install ang game....

whatchathink?!!
(may nababasa pa nga ako sa internet na this not the right time for that games... kasi nga raw crisis ngayon haha.. tiyak magpa-flop yan...... like GTA4 almost 100,000.000 dollar worth of production niyan.. mabuti kung mabawi nila ang puhunan na yan... )

I for one have long decided to buy the low end hardware whenever I upgrade. It's not that I can't afford higher end it's just that I don't think they're worth it. If you're buying top of the line, you're getting products that don't have the advantage of economies of scale and are hence overpriced. I was able to play UT3 when it came out and was thinking of upgrading when Fallout 3 comes out. But when it did I was still able to play it so didn't bother to upgrade. Yes it wasn't at the highest resolution with all the graphics turned to high, but it was ok to me.

Also, if you're the type that always upgrades to the top of the line, that's what a 5 figure (maybe almost 6) yearly expense which I think is better spent buying a car or towards buying a house.

There's always doomsayers with regards to anything. Even if GTA4 becomes a historic flop, I don't think it'll affect the industry that much. Yes game companies can close down, but new ones start up to replace them. This isn't much different to movie companies, "The Gladiator" was a major flop and yet you still see high production movies being made today.

Those games you mentioned aren't really that intensive, and mid range PCs can still play them... but of course you can't max out the settings. If you're the type who can't accept playing a game below 1920x1080 and 16x antialiasing at a steady 60 frames per second, then yes sasakit ang ulo mo at mapapagastos ka pa.

On my PC, I don't think I ever went above 1280x720 for any game.

Kung hindi mo ma-take na naka-off yung ibang settings sa PC mo, maybe it's time that you considered buying a game console. The graphic quality will be lower than that of PCs, pero at least hindi na sasakit ang ulo mo sa detail level settings. You'd be stuck at a single set of detail levels, pero at least you get to focus on just playing the game.

yeah you're right guys......

pero i think yung mga latest game consoles, kahit bumaba ang price ng konti...... mahal pa rin ang price like PS3...... mahal parin...

kakadismaya din... and i know marami din ditong PEX user ang may ganyang problem.... low pc specification... kaya di ma-install ang gamesa pc......

like last time, nag-attemp ako na install ang GTA4... pag-install ko may error

"RMN 40" (fatal error).. i found out na sa motherboard pala yun, i got Pentium 4... while gta4 needs Intel core duo 2 hahahaha...

no kidding ha... about 3-4000 pesos din and isang motherboard built in intel core duo....

I like PC Gaming with COD4, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Dream Match Tennis(Tennis Sim), and others. but nowadays, with the consolization of Games for PC(e.g. Thank you Infinity Ward and your MW2), and the online functions of the consoles, I'm planning to buy a 360 or a PS3. Medyo mahal rin yung maintenance ng PC Rig kung hindi mo matake na maglaro ng games na below native resolution ng monitor mo and only on Medium settings. but still I'm going to buy a vid card soon, my 8800GT died

Opinion ko lang to ha lol.

joseph971: From the looks of it, your PC's technology is about a decade old. Talagang wala nang malalaro yan kundi Windows XP at Microsoft Word. Mabilis talagang umusad ang technology, and gaming as a hobby really needs quite a bit of spending.

Game designers do their best to make their games accessible to lots of people by making their products run on machines around 3 to 5 years old, but they really can't sacrifice the quality of their games just for those people who refuse to upgrade their PC at all.

No wonder. That's like complaining you can't play Xbox 360 games with your Xbox 1.

You don't need to upgrade your PC, you need to buy a new one.

I agree w/ this...just buy a newly assembled CPU......I think 30,000 should be enough.....

Yup it looks like kailangan mo na ng bagong pc.

If you decide to get a new one, check mo yung mga specs na kailangan mo, imo a well thought off pc would last you a good number of years, instead of buying the pre assembled packages. Think of the long term usage of the pc and not just the current specs you need, para hindi ka laging upgrade ng upgrade.

nyak, kaya pala hehe, considered ancient pc na yan imo for todays games. You don't need to spend lots of cash everytime, smart buying lang minsan, piliin yung mga maayus na model ng hardware para at least magtagal, saka depende din sa requirements mo. My old 9600GT is already old pero kahit papano ayus pa din, naka 1280x1024 max res lang naman ako (lcd limit)

Then again, pwede pa torchlight diyan , geforce 2 lang required nun hehe.

9600GT is around 10-12% slower than the original 8800GT (renamed 9800GT these days)

Mas magandang mag HD 4770 ka na lang or GeForce GTS 250, pero kung want mo mas mura 9800GT na lang din (8800GT din siya with a smaller die/chip size, basically cooler and me extra power throttling yata)
I got my 9600GT nung unang labas sa market, mga 8K pa nun, ngayon mga 4K na lang lolz, yung 9800GT mga 4.5-5K siya, or less.

Also, try not to obtain higher than 512MB framebuffer kung ang chip niya eh around 9800 or 9600 GPU lang, hindi rin masyado mama maximize, id rather get a GTS 250/HD 4770 with 512MB vs a 9600GT/9800GT with 1GB.

And by the time you do buy a new one, you will realize na ancient na rin pala yan.

It's a viscous cycle. Games are evolving every minute and consumers want more, well at least for those who can afford and for those who can ask mommy to buy them.

Oo. Kasi magastos lalo na kapag bagong PC game, kailangan bago rin ang hardware requirements ng iyong PC.

Unlike sa console gaming in which bibili ka lang ng unit, games at magandang TV, mas suwabe pa ang iyong gaming experience!

^ Except you pay $10 to $20 more for all your games, pay extra for controllers/accessories, pay extra for Live subscription, pay extra for DLC, then repeat the process when the next generation consoles come along.

It pretty much evens out in the end, but for some people their PCs pay for themselves.
