Hello po..I'm a newbie here, nag register ako to ask you guys a question...

Actually nag search ako ng details about OFW life there in Oman I was offered a job kaya lang kasi maliit lang ang salary 263RO for Accountant sa Marriott Hotel to be open daw in Dec 15 sa Sahlala. Contract is for 24 months.

Free naman ang accom and food pati placement fee.

Can any one tell me if reasonable yung offer? kasi ok naman work ko here in Makati, kaya lang for some reason gusto ko rin mag work abroad para makaipon ako.

The question is will I be able to save considering the options above?

let me give you my insight regarding your query...

For me, 263 RO for an accountant is mababa kahit pa free ang food/accomodation/placement fee. Wala pa yan sa kalahati ng estimated salary ng accountants dito. Advantage yung freebies pero still the salary is low.

Hmmm nag-take ka na ba ng ibang exams aside from CPA? If yes, try mo mag-apply sa Oman Air. Kailangan yata nila ng accountant.

Sa 263 OMR, sabihin na natin na makakapag-save ka ng 230 every month (assuming wala kang gagastusin sa transpo). Do the math and check if it's worth it.

@xindi - my opinion... mababa *** offer for an accountant in Oman (city area), since you are in salalah which is very far away from the city.. that might fit the lifestyle there..kung 263 NET mo wala ng ibang expense from basic needs since free accomodationa and good and let me assume free din ang transpo it might sound ok...

check your net there sa pinas and your net sa offer mo... if your net came triple and more.. you can consider the offer...

Maraming Salamat po ImKatrina & nhowelson... mababa nga po tlaga yung offer in fact 30% lang ang increase nya from my gross pay here sa Pinas,I'm not CPA pero 7 years na ko nag wo work as General Accountant. Gusto ko lang talaga maka save dito kasi sa makati magastos din panay lakwatsa..hehehe kaya eto mghahanap pa rin ako ng ibang options,

among middle east country parang 1st option ko na ngayon sa Oman dahil sa mga nabasa ko from this thread..

30% that means you are already earning more than 20K back there... onmy personal opinion i will not grab this offer... try to apply in Qatar, i heard that Qatar is a good option nowadays... try your luck with "Qatar Metro Project" .. and if we are both lucky we might work together in the future...
