American Sam Querrey on Mend From Accident

*snip*

Querrey heard from Roddick and Blake after the accident, but he was most excited about an e-mail from Federer wishing him well.

''That was the greatest,'' he said, smiling. ''I was so happy. It made my day. It was almost worth it.''

Who is the tennis player you most admire?
The best ever I’ve seen is Roger Federer. The main thing is the talent that he has to do things. I’ve seen him train many times and few times have I seen him train with the intensity which I have done all my life. In fact, never. That impresses me. A player like him has worked hard since childhood, but you see him train and not pay much attention. He has a facility that allows inspiration to come to him with little concentration, and he catches the feeling immediately, and makes extremely difficult things become very easy.

Do you envy that power?
I do not want it to get confused: I have no envy whatsoever. Of course, I would like to win what he has won. Each person has what they have, and I am very happy with what I have won so far. The truth is that he has some innate, special qualities.

Tsk, tsk . . . tough draw for Roger. I don't feel good about it. God help our champ.

ATP - A CHALLENGING DRAW

Roger will compete against Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro and Fernando Verdasco in Group A at the ATP World Tour Finals - not an easy draw!

Roger has won three of the nine encounters with Murray. He beat Verdasco in all their three matches so far and defeated Del Potro in six of their seven meetings (he lost to the Argentinian in this year's US Open final).

Roger can meet Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic in the semifinal of the World Tour Finals starting in London coming Monday.

IMHO, It is a much favorable draw for ROGI (than that of Rafa) considering JMDP is not at his best form nowadays, and same goes with AM. about Verdasco, rogi always get the better of him (and i would'nt want either for Rafa to play against Nando coz' we all know what will be the result).

Funny to think Rafa's opponents are the ones who beat him just recently. (Sods-FO, Davy-Shanghai, Nole-Paris)

In Thursday's paper The Times:

"Dressed to kill in their Essential British garb, the eight players who are to draw the largest one-week crowd at a tennis event in this country to the O2 arena will be pictured tomorrow (that would be Friday) on the banks of the River Thames, hoping that the forecast gale force winds do not force a constant reshaping of their hairstyles.
...
Andy Murray — drawn into group A with Roger Federer, Juan Martín del Potro and Fernando Verdasco — is expected to be first on in the singles, generating a sizeable BBC audience."

Roger's hair will look perfect tomorrow no matter the atmospheric conditions.

Hmm I don't know . . . Roger is not in his best form either and Murray seems to lose to others but not to him, most times anyway. Murray won in Valencia, he should have some confidence from that going into the championships. JDMP is more consistent than Davydenko regardless of his recent losses. He's been going deep in tournaments all year. Soderling is a debutante so nerves could prevent him from playing his best. It's just my opinion.
