HELP: Recommended books to read for my 'atheist' Boyfriend

Hello! I need help from the readers ^__^

Can you recommend any good Christian books to help my boyfriend regain his faith? We're in LDR, so it is a little bit difficult to bring him to church with me. He's willing to read and consider books that could possibly help him. He's doing this for himself which made me so happy ^^ and I would like to support him in every possible way.

He's currently reading 'The Purpose Driven Life' to start with but he's been very honest with me that after reading the first few pages, he could be arguing with the author if it's only possible.

I've been thinking about the books such as 'What Matters most for Men' but I need more ideas. I want to give him something to inspire him more to continue on what he's started. We're both Filipinos and grew up in Christian families but we both believe faith should never be associated with Tradition nor Culture. It should be within us because we're willing and we truly believe and not just for the reason that we have to because of our society.

Non-christian books are welcome as well ^___^ thanks a lot in advance! God Bless!

If he's really into it, then I suggest The Case for Christ which is a very good investigative book.

Did you "love" him because you of the man you want him to be? or for the man he is?

Just asking.

Hi Of course I love him just the way he is. ^^
I've stated it clearly on the post po na he's NOT doing this for me and I never forced him into it. We're individuals and he wants to make a difference in his life ^__^. I'm just on the side supporting him and sa kanya na din galing na by taking this step, it would help him become a better father and a husband in the future ^^ and I'm with him.. whether or not ako *** mapapangasawa nya ^^

lol I talk too much but hope that answered your curiosity

hello. thanks for the question but to answer it,

Like for example, the filipino community. Majority of us are Christians and our take on this is that, just because our family and everyone else around us believes in something, doesn't mean we have to ignore our personal opinions and believe in one thing blindly just because everyone else does. The willingness and sincerity in having faith in God matters most rather than just believing because we we're meant to. Anyway, personal opinion lang po ^^ I hope I did not offend anyone, pero I'm only asking for suggestions on what books to read

I hope everyone here's willing to share their knowledge regarding with the main idea stated in my post.

Have a nice day! ^^ and thank you.

Try the nonfiction books of C.S. Lewis, especially Mere Christianity. Lewis was an atheist who rediscovered his Christian faith.

"My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust? " - from Mere Christianity

buddhist books (buddhists are atheists since they don't believe in a god) I have a buddhist "bible" that i picked up from thailand and the sayings in there make more sense and are straight to the point

i'm not a buddhist either, but i am an atheist
