Too bad, hindi ako nakasama sa school team namin to think na i'm the most prepared sa mga pinagpilian. Talagang ganyan. I was even feeling that our school would finally make it to the finals this time around. Kaya lang, hindi ako nakuha. Goodluck na lang sa kanila. Imagine, nag-triple degree program ako to prepare for this: Accounting, Finance, and Economics. I even thought of enrolling in another university just to be able to join this competition. Imagine the repercussions kung tinuloy ko yung balak ko at tinalo ko yung team na nagreject sa akin. Haha Anyway, wala namang nasayang sa mga preparations ko. Hindi naman yan yung ultimate goal ko.

When it comes to accountancy, finance, economics, general management and marketing... UP Diliman, like we all know, stands head and shoulders over the rest of the schools in the whole Philippines. The UP students are said to be the brightest students in the entire Philippines. Almost ALL major competitions are won by UP students. But let's see how the UP team (for this year) will compare with the best business students from Singapore. My money is with the UP Diliman team.

Another thing I'm really interested in would be La Salle's performance this year. They are the 2nd winning-est team in the competition but did relatively bad last year. I wonder how they prepared for this year.
Any Lasallite / Lasallians out there, your thoughts? |

I'm not sourgraping. Winning the competition is one of my goals but not necessarily the ultimate goal in my life. I would love to be a CFA charterholder. That is an ultimate goal for me. To achieve that, I have set several smaller goals. One of which I mentioned above. Unfortunately, it seems that it would not be possible for me to do it (the small goal). Life would not stop for me. If I don't achieve it, then I'll proceed to the next goal for me to achieve. I don't think that's sourgraping.
Anyway, there is still a slim chance for me to make it to the team. Many things can happen before September 21. |

^ pero ang alam ko, days before the competition, fina-fax na ang names ng participants and their IDs. alam mo, di rin naman kawalan ang ginawa mo eh. believe me, when you enter the corporate world, moreso an investment house, you will rock. who knows? baka right after graduation at nagCFA exams ka, maging CFA level 1 ka agad.
Hulk ano kaya ang malaki ang weight? tatadtaran nyo ba yan ng equity and debt valuation? economics? financial statement analysis? indeed, surprising ang pagkakasama ng ethics. |

The one qualifier per group rule actually came from the clamor of different schools who were being eliminated despite having far higher scores than qualifiers from other groups. Remember twenty (20) local schools will still qualify. The other 14 will be determined based on their score ranking nationally.
UP-Diliman and Ateneo are in separate groups because they finished 1-2 last year. Quote:
About SMU, SMU is a CFA program partner school and the ICFC is based on the CFA Level 1 exam. The only school in the Philippines that can claim to be a CFA program partner school is AIM. ![]() |
