10 days? - Phuket (Phiphi)- Bangkok- Laos- Cambodia- Vietnam
10 days? - Phuket (Phiphi)- Bangkok- Laos- Cambodia- Vietnam
Or Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos-Bangkok-Phuket? Hi Guys, Please forgive me for creating a new thread about the above countries. Tanong ko lang sana kung anong pinaka posibleng macover in 10 days (kasama na ang flights to and from Manila. We can skip Laos kung sakali..pero kung pwede bakit hindi. Oks lang sa min ng hubby ko na parang marathon like what we did before (10 days Singapore-Malaysia-Macau-Hongkong). Nag-enjoy naman kami kahit pagod na pagod hehe. Hingi lang sana ako ng advice sa kung anong efficient gawin in 10 days at kung san Pinakamura magstay sa mga countries na yan. Maraming salamat po. |

For 10 days, here are some suggestions. Some of the suggested days include travel time between places (and it better be by plane for most of it).
Thailand only: Bangkok (4 days) - Chang Mai (3) - Phuket / Krabi / KPP (3) Vietnam only: Hanoi (3) - Halong Bay (2-3) - Hue (2) - Saigon (2-3) Bangkok to Saigon: Bangkok (4) - Siem Reap (3) - Saigon (3) OR Bangkok (3) - Siem Reap (3) - Phnom Penh (2) - Saigon (2) |

Picture dito. Picture doon. And that's it. I really hope it would be possible to travel the said places within 10 days. by the way, we need to get a visa to go to Laos, right?

I suggest that from Phuket, get a flight to Bangkok, and from there you can do an overland to Vietnam. You have to choose either passing through Cambodia or Laos as these two are north and south of Thailand. I suggest that you pick Laos over Cambodia if you'll be doing an overland because there are a lot of touts at Aranyaprathet, the Thailand-Cambodia border. When I was there in 2006, the touts charged me US$20 for a pickup ride that didn't even bring me to Phnom Phen, and i was sitting on top of a cabbage basket. I only learned when I got off that locals only pay around US$1 for the trip, roughly 4000 riels back then. US$20 is already a sum of money for them. On the other hand, if you will be taking the Laos route, you have to endure a 30-hour non-aircon bus ride to reach Hanoi. It is an overnight bumpy bus and I was shaking my head when I took it. If you go through Cambodia, you'll reach Ho Chi Minh City, while if you take Laos, you'll reach Hanoi. |

Yeah, I agree! Maya Bay and Koh Phi Phi in general are beautiful places!
If you can't get a direct flight from Manila to Phuket / Krabi (you can go to KPP through both places and both have airports), try the following: Bangkok (2) - Koh Phi Phi (3) - Bangkok (2) - Siem Reap (3) Skip Vietnam and Laos since you don't have time to enjoy both. |

(This is my first SEAsian trip btw and I want to maximize my 1wk vacation so I'm thinking of squeezing other countries in my iterinary ) |

^Dude, that's why I asked if it's possible to squeeze the 2 counties I mentioned. What's with the tactlessness?

It's obvious that it's not possible that it surprises me that someone actually has to ask. Everyone knows that 1 week equals 7 days. 7 days divided by 3 countries equals 2.333 days per country. It's just simple mathematics. But then again, it's your trip. If you want to spend 2 days in each country including a day each traveling between countries, go ahead. Have fun. ^^I think I have to replace tactlessness with arrogance here. We all know not all places are advisable to be stayed that long that's why I asked such question, smartass.

Nah! You didn't want to hear the truth and just wanted confirmation. After all, I don't think it was really a question: you just wanted someone to agree with you. Well, here it is: you can go to three countries in one week. Have fun!

One can squeeze as much country as you like in ten days.
It's all about how much budget, planning itineraries and the level of comfort you would want in a trip. It also depends on the type of traveller that you are. If you just want to "picture picture" and then off to your next destination, then go ahead and squeeze as much countries as you want. But then again, a "hurried" itinerary may mean you miss out experiencing the local culture, see more sights (aside from the usual tourists spots) and get you all exhausted at the end of the trip. Before travelling, read about the countries or cities of interest you would want to go to. [b]Google is one tool to do this[\b]. Then you get to learn about the place, identify places that interest you and check out the accomodation options. You also would then know how you would transfer from one place to another and see if it is feasible to do the multiple locations you want to visit in one trip. ------------------------- For the thread starter, choose the first and last country destination with direct flights to Manila. The first country should have a morning flight out of Manila and the last country an evening flight back to Manila. This is to maximize the first and tenth day of your trip. |
