Yup, I like the new Globe ad. It added a new element to the ribbon that was as heartwarming as before. Makes me want to stay with Globe!

Am not sure about Axe and Nido, but I do know that jingles work for Close-up. It's building the brand, and something Colgate definitely cannot do! I can't imagine a Colgate ad having a teenybopper jingle. Seems trying hard.

Anyway, back to your point, yep, listeners do tune in to these jingles and they help build the brand's equity. I don't think it's a waste of production and media money because it does bring in business! It depends highly though on how it's executed... like I highly recall the "YC Bikini Brief" jingle but would never think of buying that brand.

Whoops! The "Baby Toy" talk was used by San Mig Light, not Beer na Beer.

not talking about the jingle they use in their ads. jingles in ads do work depending on the ad and the product.

i am referring to FULL SONGS they have produced out of their jingles and are now being aired on radio as a song/part of the regular radio programming with an announcer VO that says (as in the case of axe) something like the whole country is now dancing to this tune (really now???), yada, yada, yada.

abcxyz - Regarding Axe, yup they really had real people dancing on some 'stage' high up the billboard. I actually saw the news clip in Breakfast last week...was i the only one who saw it?

Regarding jingles - i remember " nescafe's jingle" sang by nina. It worked for me, recall was great and it really made me want to buy nescafe because of it's lyrics.

Yvaine: you should be proud working in a company that allocates a huge chunk of its budget to advertising.

the 1st installment of the "ties that bind" campaign won the achievement something award at the ad congress last year. forgot the exact title of the award though.

I like Sprite's "Magpakatotoo ka" campaign, yun ang malakas ang recall. Who can forget Ryan Agoncillo and Patricia Javier?! Ok din yung sa Caltex, "short term and long term goals."

Pinaka-hate kong TV ads? I've come up with my own list below:

TOP 1: Chaneley condo pie ad: "...da epol pie or da pitsa pie! [then the wife butts in], no honey, the Chaneley condo pie!"
TOP 2: "Bangon na, kilos na!" by Nora Aunor
TOP 3: John Osmena's and Jamby Madrigal's political ads.
TOP 4: "Bantay Presyon" (DOH) by Soxy Topacio

i am really sorry, but i think i can beat your worst tv ad ever. mine is GARDENIA bread tv ad with that 70s music, 70s feel, 70s production values, no wait, let me correct that - home video production values and that passe 70s hippy looking caucasian delivering a 70s copy. i think i beat you on that

this ad is SO bad that i think everyone who worked on the project decided NOT TO INCLUDE THE PROJECT ON THEIR RESUME.

"Nakatikim ka na ba ng kinse anyos?"

This ad is cheap, malicious and in bad taste. Di kaya yung ad agency ng beer na beer ang may gawa nito.

Another unlikable ad is John Osmena's ad as in yun kaya talaga ang kanyang greates contribution sa society. Wow!

thebrain: the adboard is asking napoleon brandy to remove this hideous billboard ad along roxas blvd.

okay sana ang concept pero malisyoso nga. pang-FHM lang ang mga ganyang ads eh.
